As of May 2015, the American University of Sharjah has 10,429 graduates, of whom 16.9 percent are pursuing or have completed graduate studies. Some 82.7% of our alumni live in the UAE. A further 5.1% live in Saudi Arabia, 2.2% in Kuwait, 1.6% in Qatar, 1.4% in Bahrain, and 0.8% apiece in Bahrain and the United States.
Of the four schools on campus, the College of Engineering has awarded a total of 4122 degrees, while the School of Business Administration was responsible for 3486. A further 1529 degrees were awarded by the College of Arts and Sciences, in addition to the 1183 given by the College of Architecture, Arts, and Design.
AUS prides itself on its international appeal and diversity. Our graduates hail from 90 different countries. The nationalities most well represented among them are Emiratis (18.7%), Jordanians (12.8%), Palestinians (8.8%), Syrians (7.0%), Pakistanis (6.2%), Egyptians (6.0%), Indians (5.5%), Lebanese (4.3%), Saudis (4.3%), and Iranians (4.2%).
Our alumni have also gone on to acquire additional degrees at over 200 institutions around the world, including Harvard University in the United States, the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, the Sorbonne in France, McGill University in Canada, and the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Aside from the University itself, the largest employers of AUS alumni are Petrofac International, the Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority, Etisalat, and the MBC Group. They are followed by Deloitte & Touche, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Ernst and Young, Du, and Consolidated Contractors.
